Paxton Door Controller
Net2 by Paxton is a powerful networked access control system that provides centralized management, real-time event reporting, and flexible user access control. Each control unit operates as part of a networked infrastructure but retains independent decision-making capabilities and on-board event memory, ensuring resilience and continuity.
The Net2 Plus control unit offers streamlined setup via an RJ45 connector on a standard TCP/IP Ethernet network, making it ideal for sites with LAN/WAN infrastructure. Additionally, an onboard RS485 interface allows daisy-chaining of other Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic units over CAT5 cable, simplifying system expansion without requiring a separate TCP/IP to RS485 converter.
Net2 Plus is available with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, allowing installers to transmit both data and power through a single Ethernet cable. Compatible with PoE switches or PoE injectors, this version connects directly to existing LAN networks using a standard RJ45 plug, reducing cabling complexity and installation time.
Installing the Net2 Plus access control unit is straightforward and designed with professional integrators in mind. Each unit features a clearly labelled terminal layout with colour-coded connections for readers, power supplies, and peripheral devices. Its voltage-free relay enables reliable switching of electronic locks, exit buttons, door contacts, tamper switches, and other alarm accessories.
Updates and changes made via the central Net2 software are immediately transmitted to the control units. Each reader interaction triggers the unit to validate the presented token or credential, ensuring accurate access permissions based on up-to-date user profiles.
