It is common for a door entry telephone system to be combined with a proximity access system to allow free access for residents, tenants and staff. The inclusion of a compact standalone proximity reader on the entrance panel allows authorised personnel entry to the building by means of a key-fob. Visitors’ access is controlled by the telephone entry system. This proximity access system is an ideal solution where no central programming or reporting is required.

The BPR Compact Proximity Reader is a complete panel-mount reader based on the Mifare 13.56MHz tag technology with up to 1000 fob-users.

The vaildating and voiding of users’ key-fobs is achieved with a shadow fob system offering Bell Custom Security Coding.

The reader can output to both fail-secure and fail-safe lock devices and have an input from an ‘exit button’.
