0 Button 4000 Series amplifier module. The 4838 amplifier modules are an intelligent device with a built-in microprocessor to control the functions of a system.. These speaker unit offers ease of installation (on door entry systems with multiple entrances there are no entrance switchers required) and assists the user by providing visual and acoustic reassurance signals during the process of a call (call, conversation, door open and busy etc). The speaker unit can be used in one of two modes, 4+1 (Standard) or 5+1 where it is possible to have privacy of speech (On video systems and apartment station systems privacy of speech is standard in both modes). The enclosed speaker unit circuitry includes:
a. The microprocessor for controlling all functions;
b. The transmitting amplifier with condenser microphone and volume control;
c. The receiving amplifier and volume control;
d. 2 Led's to illuminate the nameplate(s) and 4 to signal the progress of the call (Busy, calling, speak and door open.
e. The dry contact lock release relay to enable the electric lock or gate;
f. The modulated tone generator for calling apartments;g. One 3 way and one 8 way dip switch for programming.

1 and 2- Call tone type - a choice of 4
3 and 4 - number of rings (only on 5+1 systems - sentry type)
5 and 6 -The conversation time
7 and 8 - lock release time.

1 - reassurance tone enable
2- system type 4+1 or 5+1
3- Automatic open speech on handset lift enable disable (For 1 door systems only)
